Small Demolition: Shed, Deck & Pool Removal

Princeton Excavation handles light residential demolition: sheds, decks, detached garages, concrete patios and walkways, hot tubs, above-ground pools, and inground pool fill-ins. We take it down, sort and haul the debris, and leave the spot graded — not a crater with nails in it.

What we take down

What we take down

Small structures, done cleanly. We're not a wrecking outfit — we're an excavation crew that's sized right for what's in your backyard.

Teardown, Sort, Haul-Off

The mini excavator breaks the structure down, we sort metal, wood, and concrete as we load, and the 7-yard dump truck carries it out. Concrete patios and walkways come up slab by slab, footings included.

Pool Fill-Ins in Compacted Lifts

For inground pool abandonment we break up the shell floor so water drains through, drop the walls, then backfill with clean fill compacted in lifts. Filled loose, a pool becomes a slow sinkhole. Filled in lifts, it stays a lawn.

Honest About Limits

We don't demolish houses and we don't touch regulated materials. If your old shed siding or pipe wrap might be asbestos, a licensed abatement contractor clears it first — then we take the rest down.

Removed like it was never there

The teardown is the easy part. What separates a good demo from a cheap one is what's left behind: footings pulled instead of buried, debris actually gone instead of tilled into the soil, and the hole backfilled and graded so it doesn't read as a dip in the lawn two winters later. Where we're digging — pool removals, footing pulls — the NJ One Call 811 markout happens before any bucket goes in the ground.

  • Where we work

Our equipment is the reason this works in finished yards. The tracked mini skid steer fits through a standard 36-inch gate, so a backyard shed, hot tub, or above-ground pool comes out without cutting your fence apart, and the mini excavator handles the heavier breaking where there's room. Old shed gone and planning a new one? We'll leave the spot cleanly graded for whoever builds the pad.

How a job goes

From the first call to a clean handover

  1. 1. Site Walk

We come look at the property by appointment, check the access and any constraints, and go over your plans or what you have in mind.

  2. 2. Marking & Layout

We set the layout on the ground with laser accuracy. Depths, lines, and elevations are marked before anything gets dug.

  3. 3. The Work

We bring the right machine for the access, lay ground protection where it's needed, and keep the mess around lawns, trees, and hardscape to a minimum.

  4. 4. Clean Handover

You're left with a site that's ready to go and a yard that's still in one piece, set up for whatever's next.

Frequently Asked Questions

Then it waits. Old cement-board siding, certain roofing, and pipe wrap can contain asbestos, and that's a licensed abatement contractor's job, not ours. Get it tested and cleared first; we handle everything after abatement.
